BOCA RATON, Fla., Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Skyetel, a leading telecom carrier and technology company has appointed David Shifley as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Due to its accelerating growth, Skyetel has expanded both its wholesale and enterprise customer base, strengthened their product portfolio, invested in its network, and created a more scalable customer experience. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, Shifley will lead the company's Technology division, enhancing its platforms and services. Skyetel continues to drive innovation and expand the company's ability to develop industry-leading solutions across the global telecommunications and SaaS ecosystem.

"I'm excited to join the Skyetel team and do my part to deliver on their ambitious vision,"Shifley said. "Joining a company that values innovation is exactly where I want to be. Most companies are happy being flat, so Skyetel showing this type of growth is almost unheard of. I believe I can help develop the right tools, and we can absolutely knock it out of the park."

Shifley has over 25 years of experience in software development and architecture, primarily focused on cloud based and open source technologies. Prior to joining Skyetel, he previously served in several executive and technical architect roles at Excel Telecommunications, Impact Telecom, Magna5, and most recently at Connectbase. In these roles, he was instrumental in designing and building cloud-based systems to process billions of records per month in near real-time.

"We are thrilled to welcome David Shifley to our leadership team, bringing his deep expertise of telecommunications platforms and technology to Skyetel," said Lauren Halperin, Skyetel's Chief Marketing Officer. "His decades of experience in the telecom industry will enable Skyetel to efficiently and effectively plan and control its current and future growth. I am confident that David's ability to scale complex technology will be invaluable as we advance our strategy and grow into the next phase of trusted communication."

Shifley added, "What excites me most about Skyetel's future is beyond the company's growth, the development and innovation they are bringing to a traditionally technologically stagnant industry. They are constantly developing software and are already integrating their own AI and SI into their technological DNA."
